Strikes and account standing

How strikes work

Each Minute recording tagged Feedback in review is one strike. Each strike expires 90 days after it is given. Strikes count separately for the home and work organization codes. Reaching 5 active strikes on one code stops that Minute account.

Account standing shows your active strikes and when each one expires.

Account standing

What went wrong shows the reason for each strike and how to fix it.

What went wrong

What a stop means

New recordings from a stopped Minute account are not accepted.

This applies only to that Minute account. Your Crowtado account stays open.

Earnings already credited stay in your Crowtado balance.

Start over with a new Minute account

If your Crowtado account is restricted

This is different from a Minute stop. New recordings are not accepted, withdrawals are not available and you can't start over.

Strike reasons and how to fix them

  • Camera blocked

How to fix it: Keep the camera lens uncovered and check the preview before recording so the task and your hands stay visible.

  • Camera not set up correctly

How to fix it: Mount the camera on your head, use a first-person view, and check that your hands and the task are visible. Do not use a tripod or chest mount, and do not film another person.

  • Hands not visible

How to fix it: Point the camera at your hands and the task, not your torso. Keep both hands visible from wrists to fingertips while you work.

  • Tasks not done for real

How to fix it: Record real tasks as you naturally do them. Do not stage activity, record a screen, or stretch recordings with idle time or repeated actions.

  • Too much idle time

How to fix it: Record while you actively do the task at a natural pace. Stop recording while you wait.

  • Task purpose not clear

How to fix it: Record one clear task from start to finish, and choose the task that matches what you are doing.

  • Repeated actions

How to fix it: Do only the actions needed to finish the task. Do not repeat finished steps to make the recording longer.

  • Poor video quality

How to fix it: Use a supported phone and the recommended recording settings. Check the preview for clear, well-lit footage before recording.

  • Camera image blocked or too dark

How to fix it: Uncover the camera lens and adjust the lighting so the activity is clear. Check the preview for blocked, dark or overexposed footage before recording.

  • Task not eligible

How to fix it: Choose a task listed as eligible and follow its recording instructions.

  • Too much phone or computer use

How to fix it: Choose a task that is not mainly phone or computer use, and keep device use brief.

  • Hands held unnaturally

How to fix it: Use your hands naturally to do the task instead of holding them in front of the camera.

  • Faces of other adults visible

How to fix it: Record where other adults are not in view, or keep their faces out of the frame.

  • Task done sitting

How to fix it: Choose an eligible task you can do standing, and follow the task's posture instructions.

  • Recordings did not match the selected task

How to fix it: Select the task that matches what you are doing, and record that task from start to finish.

  • Sensitive content

How to fix it: Do not record nudity, violence, harassment or other sensitive content.
